Hodge Podge

Here are a few more shirts I have done this week. I love this 3 Christmas tree design!! And I used some of my new fabric:) The flower with the "M" is a good multi purpose shirt that can go with lots of stuff. I absolutely love this snowman!! And again I used new fabric! I am going to make one of these for my daughter!
Here are a couple of reindeer I did for a friend. She used these for their Christmas card picture. She has a cute skirt she found at Target to go with them!

Fall Leaves and New Fabric!

It has been crazy around here! First of all Roll Tide!! We are huge Alabama fans and go to all of the home games and occasionally an away game. The late night games are really tough though! I also help out at my children's school a lot and that has kept me busy too.

I always have time for appliques and monogramming though! Several people have brought me lots lately - so more pictures to come.

Here are some leaves I did for a lady for her nieces. She wanted to match a onesie for the little brother. To be honest, at first I thought that won't look cute at all. But I must say they turned out really cute and really looked great with the onesie! I love seeing other people's ideas come together!

I read on Facebook about a fabric store called Sew Close to Home in Harpersville. Last Friday I was in Chelsea and decided to ride on out to Harpersville and check it out. Sue, is super nice and I love all of the their fabric!! I also went to another new store called The Sewing Room. It is close to me and wonderful! I just hope these small businesses stay in business!!

I can't remember which fabric came from which store but here is some of what I got! I can't wait to use it!

Candy Corn

Have you seen this?
I LOVE candy corn and M&Ms!! So, needless to say I was very excited to hear about the new White Chocolate Candy Corn M&Ms! Finally our Walmart had them! Thanks to my friend Celisa who saw them first and brought me a bag:)

After getting them I thought what a cute treat for my kids' teachers! So I whipped up a couple of hand towels and put together a fall gift. I apologize for the pictures, but I forgot to take one before I wrapped them. And Friday before school I wasn't going to unwrap them for a picture.

I did a monogrammed towel and a candy corn appliqued towel for each teacher.
I picked up a huge box of items to work on for Doo Dads and Designs on Friday. I will post a few pictures this week as I work on them.

Lucy

This is our sweet dog Lucy with Annamarye and James. Lucy passed away on Friday afternoon. She lived a good long 14 years though! Before I met Johnny I had two beagles. Daisy passed away 8 years ago. Both were very sweet dogs. They loved to run and play with the kids too. Although it was very clear that Lucy was my dog. She would always stick by me. Over the past year her arthritis really began to bother her. The past month she really went downhill quickly. She got where she wouldn't eat and recently got where she was not able to stand or walk. This past week she could stand for a short time after I lifted her up to a standing position.
She will be greatly missed!

Pencil Roll

Last year I made this pencil roll for Annamarye.

I liked this one, but since this one was made in the hoop, it doesn't hold but 6 pencils. I wanted one that held more pencils.
So, I found this one:

If you sew at all, you can do this! It was easy to make and small enough to carry around. I found the pattern here: http://firefliesandjellybeans.blogspot.com/2009/07/how-to-make-marker-roll.html It is technically a marker roll, but I used pencils. The only change I will make the next time is to make it taller.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back and thanks for checking back in with me! After a much needed break, I am ready to blog again! While I have been away from blogging, I have not been away from working. I will post some embroidery and applique things later, but wanted to share a few pictures first with you.

At the beginning of the summer we had the inside of our house painted. It was long overdue!!! That inspired me to do a few more things around the house. This was the first:

When we first built our house I had custom draperies made for the living room and dining room. I kept the extra fabric to cover the chairs in the dining room so they would match. Two kids later I finally got around to it. Actually, my husband did these one afternoon for me! I love that it matches:)

We bought the kids new comforters a while back in anticipation of painting. I monogrammed (and I'm still in the process) their sheets.
Annamarye wanted her room pink, and pink it is!!
But she loves it! Sorry the pictures aren't the best, I was in a hurry and just snapped these with my phone. It is really a hot pink color and I must admit it looks really good.
Here is Annamarye's bathroom. We were going to leave the wallpaper up in the bathroom, but I had the painters take it down. It was a surprise for my husband - ha ha! He was fine with it though. I just hated to go to all the trouble having every room painted and leave wallpaper that was originally for use as a guest bathroom/bedroom.

I wanted something to conceal toys in, and these are the two Annamarye picked out.
Thanks for stopping by!! I will be posting more pictures soon!
