I love these beach kids! The hair is loose on the girls' pigtails and on the boys' bangs. I am going to do these on beach towels with their names for James and Annamarye.

chef girl
Here is a cute chef girl design. This is one of the very first designs I bought years ago when I first got my machine. Annamarye loves to cook and she had cooking birthday party that year. For party favors, I bought aprons and put this little chef girl and each girls' name on it for them. They were adorable!
This past Christmas the kids' elves brought them chef coats and hats. I finally got around to putting something on them. Here's Annamarye's She didn't want her name on the coat, just the girl. I used red when it got to the outline since the coat is white.

I got this cute design free from here. I had a couple of baby orders so I thought I would try it out

bags and a pencil roll
I have been on a major clean out of my sewing stuff this week. I admit I am a bit OCD about cleaning and cleaning out. My kids cringe every time I say it is time to clean out their closets and drawers to see what still fits. While I like things neat and organized, I do let some areas go. For example the desk that my embroidery machine is on, is actually a computer table. I love it because it has a fold down compartment with a tray that slides out. (This is where the keyboard would go). I keep all of my design sheets in binders. The binder fits nicely on the slide out tray. Underneath, I keep sheets of fabric that I use to stitch out designs for practice, rolls of stabilizer, thread etc.. Anyway, today I took everything out and cleaned in the back, where it was really pretty dusty. I also cleaned my hoops. Using the Sulky spray they really get gunky!
I went through all of my shirts and stuff and found this old (actually new, but never used) lab coat. I put James' teacher name on it for her to wear next week on Science Day.
Earlier this week, I did these bags for Mrs. Price. They were old bags she had that said "Traveling Pals" on them. She had me add the class information on one side and "Grab and Go" on the other. Whenever the class leaves their room they have to take a "Grab and Go" bag. It has student information in it, band aids etc. I did 5 of these.
I also worked on a fun little project. I have been wanting to try a crayon roll for a long time. In fact I bought a pattern/design a while back and never tried it. When I finally did, it didn't work. So I bought another design, but this time I got a larger one for pencils. And it was soooo easy!
You use felt so when you trim the edges, it still looks great! I want to try it with fabric and just zig zag the edges so they won't ravel and see how it works. I bought the printed felt at Michael's. On one I used ribbon that I also bought at Michael's for 50 cents. On the other one I used a black rope so it wouldn't look too girly for James. It still looks a little girly, which I why I am going to try it with some camo fabric.
I have another fun project I'm working on and hopefully will post it soon!

New Project Coming Soon
Sorry I haven't posted anything lately. I have been busy working, but nothing too exciting to post. I have done lots more napkins, which are not that exciting to look at. I also did one more table skirt for James' teacher. Again, how many pictures do you want to see of a table skirt?
My niece is in town and brought me some stuff to do before she went back to Florida. Here's a couple of towels and a table runner. The table runner turned out great! I had to shorten it for her, but it was very easy to do. I put the "H" on each end to hang off. I may use what I cut off and make her some napkins to match.

We have been busy with outside playing, baseball and baton! Annamarye had her recital today and we are headed to baseball soon. I am hoping to sample a few more summer stuff! I will post pictures as soon as I can.
Also, I have a couple of projects I am working on and hopefully will get all the kinks worked out and will post pictures soon!

Working Hard
This has been a busy week! After a great Easter Sunday, a customer brought me a huge stack of napkins and towels! She saw the napkins I had done for the wedding gift. I have made a huge dent in the stack so far. Even with kids, homework, baseball and working at the book fair this week! I love these white napkins with the different colors!! I may have to do some of these for me!
I did manage to throw in a shirt for Annamarye this week. I found these shorts at Target a while back and had this t-shirt in the drawer. It came from Walmart. Every time I am in Target or Walmart I pick up a shirt or two to keep on hand. Anyway, I was able to put this on it this morning. She has been asking to wear the shorts. OK, back to kitchen towels...

A few gifts and a bird
I am currently working on another table skirt for a teacher at my kids' school. They are very easy but it does take a little bit of time. Plus, we are having great weather here so the kids and I have been playing outside every afternoon!!
But, I have done quite a few gifts lately! Here's a set of napkins I did this week for a costumer to give as a Wedding shower gift. Here colors are chocolate and brown. I may have to do some of these for me!
I have done lots of bibs and burp clothes. This costumer wanted something simple. I love the cross applique and I really love the baby carriage!! I just bought that here. It is super easy and quick. If you know the name (the customer doesn't) it would be really cute with a letter on it!
I always wrap things for this customer!
